APC Waiver Policy
The Nigerian Journal of Orthopaedics and Trauma (NJOT) is committed to promoting equitable access to scholarly publishing. While the journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) to support its editorial and publishing operations, requests for APC waivers or partial discounts may be considered in specific circumstances.
Waivers may be granted on a case-by-case basis for authors who are able to demonstrate genuine financial hardship, including but not limited to early-career researchers, trainees, or authors from low-resource settings.
Requests for waivers must be made after manuscript acceptance and before payment, and will not influence the peer-review or editorial decision-making process. The scientific quality and merit of the manuscript remain the sole criteria for acceptance.
Decisions on APC waivers are made at the discretion of the Editorial Board, in line with the journal’s commitment to academic integrity and sustainability.
